With the addition of 30 States and Union Territories under its network, Vidya Samiksha Kendras (VSKs) have turned the page on a new milestone- a system designed to collect and consolidate real-time data relating to students and teachers across the nation. Launched by the Ministry of Education to revolutionise India’s education system, transparent information regarding the attendance of students and teachers across all States will now be readily available.
Additional Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Shri Vipin Kumar said “This system will allow learning gaps in students to be mapped, tracked, and identified even as they move between States. Consolidation of data will help educators and policymakers address some of the critical issues in education.”.
In other words, Vidya Samiksha Kendras look to standardize data and help identify where such interventions are needed so that learning gaps can be bridged by schools and the authorities. The national set-up looks at increasing transparency and enabling crucial information on attendance, outcomes of learning, and other educational parameters in real time.
This way, through such efforts, the Ministry of Education continues pushing improvement on the education sector, based on empirical data, to ensure learning progress is closely monitored in every region.
