DU Admits 764 Single-Girl Children, 132 Orphans for 2024-25

Delhi University has admitted 764 single-girl children and 132 orphans under supernumerary quotas for the 2024-25 academic year. Out of 74,108 total admissions, 28,810 students chose to upgrade their seats, while 45,298 opted to freeze their allocations, as reported by ANI. The third round of admissions, which began on August 31, has been released.

The single-girl child quota reserves one seat per program across DU colleges, while the orphan quota reserves one seat each for male and female students in each program. In this round, 1,061 candidates secured seats through the Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) category, and 1,648 were admitted through the Sports category. Additionally, 2,682 students were upgraded to higher preference programs, and 332 students were admitted based on performance criteria.

Allocations for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Children/Widows of Armed Forces Personnel (CW) categories are still pending and will be announced soon.
