Making an initiation to fill all their vacant seats, the University of Delhi has officially announced a mop-up round in selected colleges with specific courses for admission. This mop-up round is one of the series of such initiatives that will finally enable some of the eligible candidates to get admitted in courses of their own preference.
Important Dates and Registration Process
The mop-up round seats available will be announced on September 27 at 5 PM on admissions.uod.ac.in. Then, the mop-up round registration will open on the same day, and candidates can register till 11:59 PM of 29th September. In the nutshell, this time chart is very important for those students who are supposed to complete their admissions for this academic session.
Registration enables applicants to apply to individual colleges and courses between September 30 at 5 PM and October 2 at 11:59 PM. Between October 3 at 2 PM and October 5 at 5 PM, the applications will receive admissions. The last date for admission fee generated for the completion of the process is October 6 at 5 PM.
The eligibility criteria for mop-up round will be decided by the merit score from the candidate’s qualifying exam along with some specific eligibility criteria for each program that would restrict only those who are qualified on an academic basis.
All the applicants who haven’t applied yet for any program offered by DU and want to join mop-up round have to submit an online application through the portal: ugadmission.uod.ac.in/mopup/index.php. It will be the last-ever chance for all those applicants who have not been given admissions so far in various rounds.
Registration Fee
In the mop-up round, free registration without any additional fee will be offered to such candidates who have already appeared and registered on the CSAS UG portal 2024. Fresh candidates will have to deposit ₹250 as the registration fee for unreserved, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, and PwBD candidates will have to pay a lesser fee of ₹100.
The mop-up round will conduct the new registration process, and the CSAS 2024 platform will, thus, be temporarily put down for the period.
Documentation and Verification
When registering and being admitted, candidates should ensure that their documents are updated and valid. Colleges may request relevant documentation during the admission phase for the verification of eligibility and facilitate a smoothish transition in case of newly admitted students.
Commitment to Inclusivity and Opportunity
This mop-up round by DU manifests in the commitment of this university toward inclusivity, thereby providing the opportunity to all those worthies whom the admission process has left unserved so far. This makes the university look toward more accessibility to higher education while fostering their intellectual and social development from diverse origins.
Mop-up rounds at the University of Delhi for undergraduate admissions fill crucial vacancies as well as offer opportunities to the broad target of various students who would have otherwise gone unregistered and unapplied. With registration and application processes, students are encouraged to make effective self-moves to take control of their future in higher education.
