GGSIPU Celebrates National Space Day with Art Activities and Space Science Initiatives

On the eve of National Space Day, a painting competition and Art Integrated–activities was organized at GGSIPU campus for the school students of Class VI to XII. The event was organized to raise space awareness and inspire future generations to explore and innovate in the field of space science and technology. The event highlighted India’s remarkable achievements in space, with a special focus on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 Mission. The Inter-school handmade painting and comic strip designing was organized by University School of Basic & Applied Sciences (USBAS).
Prof Anindya Datta, Dean, USBAS informed that the theme for the Space day is “Touching lives with touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga”. It aims to raise awareness about space among students and the broader community. The main talk will be delivered by Mrs Nivriti Priyadarshini, Scientist, ISRO on August 23rd, the National Space Day.
USBAS is organizing a variety of school-based activities to foster interest in space science among younger students. University level hackathon focused on innovative solutions related to space exploration. The programme was sponsored by Narayana Group. Dr S Neeleshwar, Nodal Officer, USBAS coordinated the programme.
In another Students Induction Program (SIP), an alumni Visheshdeep Jhamb addressed the first year students on the topic ‘Graduation Debunked’.
In yet another Faculty Development Programme, Prof Chirashree Ghose, Department of Environment Science, Delhi University spoke on Disaster Management, specifying on the health hazards related to air pollution. On the occasion, the NDRF team gave a live demonstration.
