Seema Gerotra, Additional Director work-life balance and stress management, leads a group designed to introduce practical measures to improve the wellbeing of its members. This move has been termed as a direct recognition by ICAI of increasing pressures within the profession.
ICAI has now undertaken the latest step by creating a counseling help desk at its National Call Centre on 9997599975, which is dedicated to stress management and work-life balance issues. This helpline would guide members who are concerned about matters relating to professional and personal challenges.
It has also organized a series of health and wellness programs that range from health awareness camps, stress management webinars, yoga sessions, motivational conferences, and a series of walkathons and marathons. These have focused on both the physical as well as mental well-being within the profession. It is also seen that ICAI has a Grievance Redressal Cell for its members, students, and employees and is working upon improving this system to deliver more empathetic resolutions in a more structured process.
ICAI President CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal said: “Employees are the backbone of any organization, and their well-being is necessary to the long-term success of any organization. This is why we urge organizations all over India to enforce balanced work policies that help reduce employee stress and promote overall health for employees. This will help organizations in becoming productive, resilient, and innovative more forcefully.”
In the future, ICAI has a plan of collaboration with health institutions to implement more stress management programmes, counseling services, and mental health care. The firm has been developing partnerships with the industry to offer work flexibility through teleworking, flexible hours, and wellness programs. ICAI has also created support systems among colleagues to share experiences, advice, and strategic information on how to handle professional pressures.
Thus, with these new initiatives, ICAI reaffirms its commitment towards bettering the overall well-being of its members and ensuring that a good work-life balance is maintained across the profession.
