Kerala Launches ‘Key to Entrance’ for 8 Lakh Students

Kerala ‘Key to Entrance’ Programme for Over 8 Lakh Students in State Government Schools Thiruvananthapuram, September 30, 2024 – A major initiative which would enhance education facilities available to the lot of over 8 lakh students in public schools, the government here today launched an entrance exam training program for the same. The program ‘Key to Entrance’ is aimed at providing free training and guidance to students preparing for the various undergraduate entrance examinations.
Launched by General Education Minister V Sivankutty, the new programme was with a core objective of supporting Science, Humanities, and Commerce students. The technology arm of General Education Department, Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education, KITE, launched the initiative that offers access to an array of study materials: question papers, assignments, and mock tests.
The portal — entrance.kite.kerala.gov.in — will also be accessible for free to higher secondary and vocational students from government and aided schools. Daily live classes shall be conducted on the KITE VICTERS channel, in addition to two PM eVidya channels, from September 30. Recorded sessions will be available on the YouTube channel of KITE.
Topics will start with those like Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Business Studies, English, and Geography, but with time more topics will also be added to this list. Self-assessment will take place in each class, and continued evaluation will be enabled through online model exams.
K Anvar Sadath, CEO of KITE said that this is the biggest public entrance exam training system in Kerala. “We intend to emulate the success of last year’s ‘Crack the Entrance’ crash course, which helped students shine in Medical and Engineering entrance exams,” he said.
The Director of General Education has instructed all schools to provide necessary technical support to students for smooth implementation of the program. Through this act, the state continues to strive for extending educational access and improving results of entrance exams at public school levels.
