Subodh Kumar Singh, the National Testing Agency’s director general, was fired on Saturday due to controversies surrounding exam violations. The government stated in a letter that Singh’s services were placed on “compulsory wait” in the Department of Personnel and Training.

Additional responsibility for NTA DG was given to Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and MD of the India Trade Promotion Organisation, until “appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders…” The Cabinet’s Appointments Committee gave its approval to the change of guard on Saturday.
