Through innovative solutions like the Digital Classroom and Teach through Television programs, they have made learning accessible, even in places where teacher shortages and poor infrastructure hinder progress.

One such story is that of Preethi, a 15-year-old girl from Vilanallur, Tamil Nadu. With the support of eVidyaloka’s digital classrooms and dedicated mentors, Preethi overcame significant personal challenges and excelled academically, demonstrating the profound impact of this initiative. Her journey is a testament to how eVidyaloka’s mission is shaping the futures of students across rural India, empowering them to dream big and achieve their goals.

“Do not waste any time. Make your parents proud with what you achieve and work hard to reach your goals,” says Preethi, a 15-year-old girl whose story is nothing short of inspiring. Hailing from the small village of Vilanallur in Tamil Nadu, Preethi’s life has been marked by adversity. When her father abandoned the family after her younger sister’s birth, her mother, Shakuntala, took on the immense challenge of raising her daughters alone, with limited financial resources but unlimited determination.

In the face of these challenges, Preethi found a beacon of hope in eVidyaloka’s digital classrooms. From the 5th to 8th grade, these virtual classes became her sanctuary, where she discovered a world of possibilities beyond her village. Guided by the compassionate and dedicated volunteer teachers, especially Gayathri Arun Kumar Ma’am and Prashant Sir, Preethi was not only educated but inspired. They recognized her potential and nurtured her passions for drawing and science, helping her to dream beyond her immediate reality.

This support and Preethi’s own unyielding resolve led to her excelling in her SSLC exams, scoring an impressive 443 out of 500—an achievement that spoke volumes about her tenacity and hard work. Today, Preethi is pursuing PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) at Sengadu, with her eyes set firmly on becoming a doctor—a goal she is determined to achieve to honor her mother’s sacrifices and to make a difference in the lives of others.
