Tripura Launches CM-SATH Scheme for Education Support

While launching the CM-SATH, Chief Minister Saha said, “Our government has taken a vow to let not financial constraints hinder growth of true talent and quality education facilities. We continue from where we left; hence, we launched the CM-SATH project to aid meritorious students who are in need of support.”.
CM-SATH scheme supports 200 merit-selected students for higher learning one’s for Madhyamik level 100 and the other for Higher Secondary level 100. ₹60,000 financial support shall be disbursed within three years ₹5,000/month for the candidate of the Madhyamik level and two years for the Higher Secondary level candidate.
There will be selection by the District Education Officer for each district. This is for the financial support distributed as follows: 152 will come from block levels, 12 from Nagar Panchayat levels, 26 from Municipal Council levels, and 10 from the Agartala Municipal Corporation level.
Confirming the government’s alignment with national education goals, Saha said, “According to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi about developing the country’s academic system, we are also taking various steps to strengthen teaching methodologies and impart quality education to our students.”
As the state’s education minister, Saha said that the government means to provide ‘diverse policies and programs’ that transform the educational landscape in the state. “We intend to ensure quality education and a robust learning process in educational institutions while working for the development of marginalized communities, including the poor, tribals, women, and minorities,” he added.
The state government would provide the much-needed funds for these objectives by way of scholarships, loans, and other schemes implemented throughout the education system of the state in order to follow the National Education Policy and relevant policy directives.
When launched, CM-SATH would attract an investment of ₹1.20 crore in the first year, ₹2.40 crore in the second year, and ₹3 crore from the third year onwards. During the programme, two students from each of the eight districts received scholarship cheques sanctioned by Chief Minister Saha symbolically in the official launch of this landmark initiative.
