Arunachal Pradesh’s 2024-25 budget has allocated Rs 2139 crore to education, focusing on infrastructure, scholarships, and alignment with the NEP 2020.

The amount allocated by Arunachal Pradesh to the education sector for the fiscal year 2024-25 is Rs. 2139 crore. This goes on to prove how much the government is putting into developing a robust and all-inclusive infrastructure in education. There are several initiatives therein on the promotion of education and support to students.

One of the major highlights of this budget is that it has provisions for 100% fee waivers for IIT students in Arunachal Pradesh. This move shall make quality education more accessible and affordable to each student pursuing engineering degrees. The government is not only waiving off the financial barriers but also making sure that the talented student gets a chance to develop his or her skills in his chosen fields.

Other than the fee waiver, infrastructure development in the education sector is the other main focus of the budget. Provision for opening 30 new government higher secondary and senior secondary schools is made.

This will not only increase the number of educational institutions but shall also accommodate a burgeoning student population in comparatively better learning environments.

The budget also proposed residential quarters for teaching staff at different places all over Arunachal Pradesh.

In this direction, it is one step taken towards the aim of better living conditions for teachers and attractions of qualified educators to the state. With comfortable accommodation, the government shall help bring up the quality of education by ensuring a dedicated and motivated teaching workforce.

Budget for Higher Education Sector focused on infrastructure development in two Engineering Colleges, two Model Degree Colleges, and Binni Yanga Government Women’s College. All these shall add to the overall growth and quality of Higher Education in the State.

This huge allocation of the budget towards education in Arunachal Pradesh proves one thing: the government is not taking it lightly with regard to investments in human capital and promotion of socio-economic development in society. The State aspires to a vibrant future wherein education would be at the core and assures people of quality education and growth opportunities.

It is also important to note that these fund allocations include infrastructure development in other sectors like tourism and connectivity. This round approach is supposed to show the commitment of the government towards overall development and creation of an enabling environment for progress to happen.

The state’s allocation of Rs 2,139 crores towards education in Arunachal Pradesh itself shows strong efforts towards the promotion of education, fee waivers, and improvement in infrastructure within the State. All this was directed to increase the chances of educational opportunities, which have resulted in socio-economic growth for the State.
