Condolence Meeting Held for Late GGSIPU Student

A condolence meeting was held today at 1:3O pm outside the Library Block, Dwarka Campus of GGSIPU on the unfortunate demise of late Sh. Gautam Kumar, MBA First Year student of University School of Management Studies (USMS), resident of Boys Hostel I, Shivalik, Dwarka Campus. Students and faculty members attended the meeting in large number.
According to Prof A K Saini, Acting Vice Chancellor of GGSIPU, in this regard, the university has relieved Dr Rakesh Kumar, Professor, USL&LS from the duties of Warden, Boys Hostel I, Shivalik, Dwarka campus with immediate effect. A fact-finding committee has been constituted to look into the facts and circumstances of the unfortunate demise of late Sh. Gautam Kumar. It has also been decided to assign the duties of Warden, Boys Hostel I, Shivalik to Sh. Vinay Shah, Assistant Professor, USCT, and duties already assigned to him.
The police is investigating the matter. The students have been advised to resume their academic activities, he added.
The university has also set up a committee to grant ex-gratia payment to the family of deceased student out of the corpus of students’ welfare fund under Directorate of Students’ Welfare.
