University Of Delhi

The University considered the importance of strict enforcement of existing rules, especially those mentioned in Rules XV-B and XV-C. These rules and the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women in the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Prevention) Rules, 2013 (Act No. 14 of 2013) form the backbone of the university’s disciplinary policy Let it be carried out . . . .

Basic practices to implement:

  1. Supreme Court ruling on ragging:
The Supreme Court judgment on ragging should be closely followed by all concerned, including students and hostels. This decision outlines stronger measures to prevent bullying in educational institutions. To strengthen this, students must submit a promissory note to their parents or guardians at the time of admission. This action, which can be viewed on the official anti-ragging portal (http://www.antiragging.in), reinforces their commitment to abide by anti-ragging laws
  2. UGC guidelines on anti-ragging: According to the University Grants Commission (UGC), the university is set to introduce new anti-rugging measures from this year. This policy aims to create a ragging-free environment and includes a mandatory program to educate students and staff about the consequences and legal implications of ragging
  3. Strengthening proctoral review:The Proctoral Board will play a key role in overseeing the implementation of these resources. The board will conduct regular inspections and conduct surprise inspections to ensure compliance with the regulations by collaborating with college officials. Seminars and workshops on the importance of maintaining discipline and the negative effects of ragging will also be organized.
  4. Animal and Support Services:The university will increase its support and support services to assist students who may face any form of ragging or bullying. A dedicated helpline number will be widely advertised, and counseling services will be swiftly available to help affected students.
  5. Instructional systems: A comprehensive orientation program is being developed for new students to familiarize them with the university’s disciplines and anti-lust programs. This program will include sessions on student rights and responsibilities, the importance of mutual respect, and ways to access support.
  6. Interview with Delhi Police:
The university will continue to cooperate with the Delhi Police to ensure law and order in the campuses. Regular meetings will be held between university officials and police representatives, in order to discuss any emerging issues and deal with them as soon as possible.

By implementing these strategies, the University of Delhi aims to provide a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment for all students. The University’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to the highest standards of discipline and student well-being.
