PM Kisan Nidhi Scheme
PM Modi’s first official move after assuming office is the authorization of the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Nidhi scheme. This decision benefits 9.3 crore farmers, with an allocation of approximately Rs 20,000 crores. According to India TV, he affirms, “Our government is fully committed to Kisan Kalyan, and it is fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to farmer welfare. We want to keep working even more for the farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come.”
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
On Monday evening, PM Modi holds the inaugural meeting of his new Cabinet, where it is decided to extend assistance to an additional 3 crore rural and urban households for the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Educational Ministry & Return of Dharmendra Pradhan
Dharmendra Pradhan’s retention as the Minister of Education shows the government’s trust in him to steer the education policies of the nation. According to the Indian Express, the ministry under Mr. Pradhan is divided into two sub-categories: the Department of School Education and Literacy, and the Department of Higher Education. The first takes care of policies and matters of school-level education, whereas the latter is concerned with university-level education and scholarships.
