Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has made steady progress in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025, securing the 320th position in Asia and 81st in South Asia. In the last edition of the rankings, the University was ranked 143rd in South Asia and within the 500-550 range in Asia. This significant jump in rankings reflects the university’s consistent efforts to improve academic standards, foster research, and engage in meaningful collaborations.

In a competitive field of 984 universities evaluated across Asia, GGSIPU’s rise demonstrates its unwavering commitment to quality education and impactful research. Professor Mahesh Verma, Vice-Chancellor of the university, expressing satisfaction with the progress, stated, “This recognition reflects our collective efforts to enhance research output, improve student learning outcomes, and engage effectively with global partners.” He emphasized that the rankings validate the university’s strategic direction and long-term vision.

GGSIPU’s improved position in the QS Asia Rankings reflects advancement across multiple indicators, including academic and employer reputation, papers per faculty, and international research networks. Notably, the university achieved 136th rank in Asia for papers per faculty, highlighting its growing research productivity. The university’s strong focus on research intensity has contributed significantly to its enhanced standing.

Recognizing its expanding global outreach, QS has honored the University with the QS Recognition Award in the category of “Global Engagement – Performance Improvement”. The award is an acknowledgment of the University’s strides in developing international research collaborations, and fostering diversity and interdisciplinarity in global research initiatives. In the QS World University Rankings 2025, released earlier this year, the University had bagged the ‘Rising Star Award’.

Professor Verma attributed this success to the momentum built from the university’s recent A++ NAAC accreditation, which has further bolstered its reputation within the academic community. “Our aim is to build on this momentum and continue improving across all metrics—whether in research, teaching quality, or employability,” he stated. The university’s focus on producing graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also equipped to meet industry demands remains central to its mission.

Looking ahead, GGSIPU plans to deepen its engagement with global partners and enhance its research capabilities. “The QS recognition is not just an endpoint but a new beginning. With strategic initiatives in place, we are confident that we will continue to make meaningful progress in the coming years,” added Professor Verma.
