IGNOU Announces Launch of BA in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Programme

Indira Gandhi National Open University has launched a new programme in BA in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises under the School of Vocational Education and Training. This course shall enable Class 12 passed students and budding entrepreneurs to acquire relevant knowledge and skills to start and manage new ventures in business.
Overview of Programme
The BAMSME programme is specifically tailored for individuals who have completed their 10+2 education and imparts knowledge and skills in establishing and managing new business ventures. It gives an Open and Distance Learning opportunity, hence being more accessible to people and giving more flexibility in learning.
Duration and Structure
BAMSME is a three-year program covering six semesters with a maximum timeframe of six years. The total credits attained by the learner are 120 at the rate of 20 credits per semester. The medium of instruction shall be in the English Language, and the annual fees are pegged at Rs 5,100, totaling to Rs 15,300 for the entire course.
Objectives and Curriculum
Some of the key objectives of the BAMSME programme are successful and profitable business operation of the enterprises, managerial skills, and a new innovative approach to entrepreneurship education: competency-based. The course encompasses all critical areas of business operations, covering finance, marketing, and the development of leadership qualities, which would help in both self-empowerment and empowerment of others.
