In an effort to promote collaboration in education, Hon’ble Joint Secretary (ICC), MoE Smt. Neeta Prasad met with the delegation led by President of ALIEEP. The mission focused on the two sides espousing mutual interests while exchanging best practices in educational affairs.
The Indian delegation put on the table a few of its innovative initiatives in line with the NEP 2020 agenda in the discussions. The programs included academic collaboration on partnership institutions and an increased mobility of students and teachers from the two regions.
Some of the focus areas were on digitals. The delegation presented opportunities such as Swayam which has MOOCs available to students and teachers across India. There is a design in Swayam to offer a range of courses across disciplines for enhancing access to quality education. The focus area was also on the development of teachers’ modern teaching methodologies and resources.
Exchange of ideas was held a vital step to the establishment of educational ties between India and Alabama and an entry point to further collaborations from which both the student community and the academics will end up benefiting. The parties have stated their readiness to carry on the exchange as they look forward to carrying out further discussions to uncover more opportunities for partnerships.
Smt Prasad emphasized the importance of international cooperation in actualizing the new vision set forth through the NEP 2020 concerning transforming India’s education system to meet 21st-century needs. The meeting concluded with a commitment to maintain a continuing dialogue and implementing best practices in regard to enhancing educational outcomes for both regions.
