A key step in the direction of sustainable lifestyle development, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has opened the Ideas4LiFE portal to include fresh ideas from all students, faculties, and research scholars across India. An initiative that attempts pooling the creative potential of young minds and enrolling them in the global Mission LiFE toward mindful usage of resources and environmental sustainability opened a portal in New Delhi at the Indian Institute of Technology.
Through the Ideas4LiFE portal, participants can log in with their ideas on products and services those have induced behavioural change towards eco-friendly living. Yadav called upon the participants to come out with out-of-box ideas and solutions that can realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a sustainable future. He added that this initiative does not aim at collection of brilliant ideas but rather recognizing and rewarding the best of these ideas with very handsome prizes for both individuals and institutions alike.
The portal is based on seven themes of Mission LiFE through which it offers a structured approach that allows participants to take their ideas forward into actionable projects. Through this initiative, contributors shall not only enhance their problem-solving skills but will also gain experience in designing solutions for sustainability that would have a positive impact in their community.
The world is wrestling with environmental challenges, and the Ideas4LiFE initiative is a proactive lead into creating a culture of sustainability amongst the youth. This initiative seeks to collate similar-minded people and institutions in efforts toward mainstreaming innovation and technology in developing eco-friendly lifestyles.
Students and scholars have this singular opportunity for making a difference and taking part in a global movement toward environmental sustainability.
