Nepal National Day Celebrated for the First Time at South Asian University

For the first time, Nepal’s National Day was celebrated at the South Asian University (SAU), established by SAARC nations. The event was graced by SAU President Prof. KK Aggarwal and Dr. Surendra Thapa, Charge d’affaires a.i. of Nepal. Dr. Thapa hoisted the flag and praised SAU’s role in promoting cultural and educational ties across South Asia. A cultural program, featuring students from across SAARC, highlighted the region’s shared cultural heritage. Senior officials and SAU faculty were also in attendance.
Prof. Aggarwal emphasized the university’s mission to foster unity in diversity through education and cross-cultural understanding. Dr. Ravindra Kumar Soni, SAU’s Registrar, shared insights about the university’s academic programs and future research projects. Nepalese embassy officials met with Nepali students, further strengthening ties between SAU and Nepal.
