As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign 2024 from September 17 to October 2, 2024, the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Jalandhar, is launching a series of impactful programs for cleanliness and hygiene across the campus and in the community.
Main highlights in the campaign of this year are included in the special health camp for sanitation workers called SafaiMitra Suraksha Shivir. This is particularly a health camp that offers healthcare services to sanitation workers. Since the said workers play an essential role in ensuring hygiene, the camp commits health check-ups and medical support that will allow them to be healthy and protected.
The underlying message of the SafaiMitra Suraksha Shivir lies in the commitment of NITJ towards making cleanliness not only a promotion but towards the health of individuals working day and night for a cleaner cause. This initiative, with rights empowerment, falls into the larger benefits of upgrading sanitation worker’s health, truly promoting and enhancing their health services.
It shall entail activities such as promoting sanitation sensitization, student-teacher interaction to create clean-up campaigns, and building a hygiene-friendly culture within the institution.
The initiatives taken by NITJ speak to the larger commitment towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan principles, explaining that cleanliness and hygiene mark a healthier and sustainable living. Encouragement has been made for wider participation from the institutes, and with this progression, the institute will try to make people understand this very notion-that no one is not a part of this cleanliness and public health undertaking.
