Ashoka University Launches Isaac Centre for Public Policy

Share

Ashoka University announced that it will be launching the Isaac Centre for Public Policy that would provide a platform for high-quality research and education in public policy. The center has been granted by the Ajit Isaac Foundation set up by Mr and Mrs. Ajit Isaac, chairman of Quess Corp Ltd and his wife who also are co-founders and trustees of Ashoka University.

The Isaac Centre for Public Policy will work with the public, private, and non-profit sectors to identify crucial gaps in policy research on formulation and implementation. It will also institute new undergraduate, graduate, and executive-level courses in public policy, especially with a concentration in Economics and Public Policy.

The centre will provide and emphasize scholarly discourse and publications in areas like Agriculture and Rural Economy, Employment and Labour, Indian Regulators, and Public Finance. It aspires to engage professionals at all levels on various graduate and executive programs for deep debates and discussions among them about policy-related challenges and solutions.

The ICPP will, therefore, leverage the knowledge and expertise of scholars and industry leaders and undertake ongoing, interdisciplinary research in a bid to inform evidence-based policy-making in India. It will work with policymakers, institutions, and researchers to make its work impactful.

“Ashoka University’s founding vision has always been about leveraging philanthropic support to create meaningful social impact and contribute to nation-building,” says Sarah Isaac. “This new centre is an extension of that vision, and we are excited to generate ideas and research that promote inclusive and sustainable growth.”

The Isaac Centre for Public Policy promises to be quite a big deal in terms of research and education in public policy in India, adding further to Ashoka University’s commitment towards academic excellence and social change.
