Bengal welcomed a new private medical college, the JIS School of Medical Science and Research, in Santragachhi, Howrah. The college is set to admit 150 MBBS students from the academic session 2023-24 and will operate under a public-private partnership model. CM Mamata Banerjee officially inaugurated the college on Monday.

Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director of the JIS group, expressed their excitement to be a part of this transformative initiative. He stated, “Our mission is to create a world-class medical institution. Through this venture, we aim to make a significant contribution to the healthcare landscape of Bengal.”
