GGSIPU Announces 244 New Teaching Posts, Narela Campus Expansion Plans for 2025-26

Over 244 new teaching posts have been created at the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) from this academic year. Also, an operational fund has been earmarked to start functioning the Narela campus from the year 2025-26. These decisions were endorsed at the 17th Planning Board meeting held on Thursday.
Presiding over the Board meeting, Prof Mahesh Verma, VC of GGSIPU informed the members that all efforts are being made to start a few courses from the Narela Campus from the next academic session. It will help us to expand our horizon to all parts of Delhi through the West, East and North campuses. The members were apprised about the NIRF ranking 2024 and QS World University ranking 2025, wherein the University has considerably done very well. There has been a tremendous increase of 33% in the intake of students in this academic year of 2024-25.
Planning Board members present included Prof Ranbir Singh, former VC of National Law University (NLU); Prof Jaspal Singh Sandhu, VC of Guru Nanak Dev University; Dr M Srinivas, Director, AIIMS; Prof Som Nath Sachdeva, VC of Kurukshetra; Prof K P Chinda, Ex-Dean and principal, Delhi University among other dignitaries.
Some of the new academic initiatives included that of introducing sports quota, single girl child, Vice Chancellor’s internship program, biannual registration of PhD students, and adoption of two villages Pochanpur and Amberhai to empower the local community under its University Social Responsibility (USR). Other infrastructure related development included the construction of auditorium, health centre, guest house, indoor sports stadium, lecture halls, 8-storey teaching block, among others.
