The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has made an official release rescheduling one of its Chartered Accountant CA Foundation examinations scheduled for the mid of January 2025. It is due to the reason that Makar Sankranti Bihu, and Pongal festivals are celebrated country-wide during mid-January. According to an official notification released by ICAI, the CA foundation exam that was scheduled on 14 January 2025, now would be taking place on 16 January 2025.

NEW SCHEDULE FOR EXAM DATE CA FOUNDATION JAN- 2025
The exams as per the rescheduled examination are scheduled to take place in the following dates:

• 12 January 2025
• 16 January 2025
• 18 January 2025
• 20 January 2025

The CA Foundation exams are scheduled to be rescheduled on January 14. The overall schedule for the same, however, will not change. ICAI has cleared that the schedule for Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination in January 2025 will not be affected.

The rescheduling of the exam is intended to accommodate the festivities taking place across India, ensuring that students do not face any conflicts with the important cultural celebrations of Makar Sankranti, Bihu, and Pongal.

ICAI’s Notification and Clarifications

According to the notification issued, ICAI added that in case any day of the exams scheduled under the revised timetable was declared a public holiday by any state government, the Central government or local authority concerned, no further change shall be required for the conduct of the said exam. In this regard, it clearly stated that nothing will be disrupted during student preparation or any exam scheduled period.

Date change is important for the candidates who have planned out their preparation and travel based on the calendar date. ICAI asks each candidate to refer only official communication and notice exam dates to avoid confusion by frequent checks.

ICAI’s Mock Test Paper Series for CA Foundation

In addition to the new dates declared for exams, ICAI also announced the dates of the Mock Test Papers for students attempting CA Foundation. The paper for Mock Test will take place in both physical as well as virtual modes. It would be an opportunity wherein the students could get adapted to the exam pattern by managing their time and how much prepared they are while the actual exams take place.

Mock Tests- Series I:

• December 20, 2024: Paper 1 – Accounting (10:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
• December 21, 2024: Paper 2 – Business Law (10:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
• December 23, 2024: Paper 3 – Quantitative Aptitude (10:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
• December 24, 2024: Paper 4 – Business Economics (10:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

Series II of Mock Tests:

• December 31, 2024: Paper 1 – Accounting (10:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
• 2nd January, 2025: Paper 2 – Business Law (10:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
• 3rd January, 2025: Paper 3 – Quantitative Aptitude (10:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
• 4th January, 2025: Paper 4 – Business Economics (10:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

Mock tests are highly recommended for students to get a feel of the real exam environment and test their knowledge in each subject. ICAI has highlighted that students must make the most of these mock test opportunities to improve their performance in the upcoming exams.

Results of CA Foundation September 2024 Exam

Earlier, ICAI had declared the results of the CA Foundation and Intermediate exams held in September 2024. The pass percentage for the CA Foundation exam was 19.67%, which was a very tough exam. The pass percentage for CA Intermediate was 15.17% for Group 1 and 15.99% for Group 2.

These results bring home the fact that CA exam preparation is a crucial and important activity, particularly when the January 2025 exams are fast approaching. Students are advised to study seriously and make use of additional resources offered by ICAI, such as the mock tests, to improve their prospects of success.

The rescheduling of the CA Foundation exam in January 2025 depicts that ICAI is concerned with national festivities and ensures students face a smooth examination.
