IIM Calcutta Achieves 100% Summer Placements, Sets Stipend Record

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has concluded its summer internship placements for the 61st batch of its flagship MBA program with a 100% placement rate. The hybrid mode placement process fetched a record 564 offers to 475 students on October 25, marking the institute’s stature as a premier management institution in an evolving job market.
According to the internship placement results, IIM Calcutta’s students received the highest stipends per month. The average stood at ₹1.89 lakh and the median at ₹2 lakh, thus becoming a new benchmark for the institute. Highest stipend received by the student was ₹3.67 lakh per month in India and an impressive ₹6.75 lakh per month outside the country. At ₹3 lakh per month stipend, the institute is supported by the profiles of five top percent students by grooming talent ready to be taken for any competition level in that field.
The placement process at IIM Calcutta involved 175 recruiters from finance, consulting, technology, FMCG, manufacturing, analytics, pharmaceuticals, and education sectors, which helped to define the overall demand for the IIM Calcutta graduates in all the sectors. Cluster-cohort-based placement policies combined with specific policies like “dream offer” provided an adapted matching process for right-fitting students and recruiters. This adaptive strategy facilitated the successful placement outcome of recruiters and students alike.
IIM Calcutta’s Chairperson, Placement Activities, Professor Ritu Mehta said of the placements: “For the third year in succession, the summer internship offers once again reflect that our students are truly future-ready in an atmosphere of great competition. As the managerial jobs are being redefined and job postings are scaling back globally, we indeed feel grateful to our recruiters for continuing to repose their trust in our students and our academic process.”.
