The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has collaborated with Cambtech, a training and placement firm, to introduce novel certification courses in the supply chain and logistics sector. This will help in increasing employability and giving practical experience to students. The first date of the course will be January 1, 2025, and the last date for application is December 25, 2024.

Simulated Learning for Real-World Experience
In order to fill the gap between theory and practice, these courses provide a very unique learning environment. There will be a simulated virtual office that is powered by an artificial intelligence platform simulating a real-life corporate environment. It allows participants to perform financial transactions in real-time and enables experiential learning equivalent to three months of corporate experience.

Speaking on the initiative, a representative from IITM Pravartak said, “The whole idea is to give industry-relevant skills to students and make them job-ready. Using virtual simulation and expert-driven content will give an all-round experience.”

Comprehensive Curriculum Four key areas in which certification programs are offered are as follows: 1. Supply Chain Management 2. Chartering Practice 3. Port and Terminal Management

4. International Liners Trade

The curriculum has been designed meticulously under the guidance of Prof. G. Srinivasan, a distinguished academic and former head of the Department of Management Studies at IIT Madras. Prof. Srinivasan, who has more than three decades of teaching experience and is an expert in establishing ISO standards at IIT Madras, has contributed foundational knowledge for the training modules through a series of expert lectures.

Certification and Career Opportunities After completing the courses successfully, students will be issued certificates jointly by Cambtech and IITM Pravartak, which will add value to the program. Such certification is likely to increase employability as participants will acquire practical skills and industry-related knowledge.
