The University of Strathclyde’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, based in Glasgow, has given another scholarship opportunity to international students. The “Humanities and Social Sciences Merit Scholarships – EU and International” will offset half of the tuition fee and are open to self-funded international students, including those from the EU fee group.

Details and forms are available at the university website: strath.ac.uk.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The student applying must be registered for a full-time postgraduate taught degree program commencing in the same academic year as the scholarship application.
  • A student who is in receipt of a full award from a government office or embassy will not be eligible for a scholarship.
  • Only one student per academic year can receive this scholarship.
The eligible subjects for which this grant is offered are: education, English, history, law, languages, politics, psychology, speech and language therapy, journalism, social policy, international relations, and social work.

And the candidate entering into the scholarship must be able to illustrate outstanding academic performance that should be equivalent to a UK first-class undergraduate degree and make a remarkable contribution to the community at Strathclyde during the period of study and in their professional lives thereafter.

Under this program, six scholarships are available, reducing the tuition fee for each recipient by 50% for one academic year. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will make final decisions concerning the awarding of the scholarships.
