The British High Commission in New Delhi is coming up with a wonderful campaign where young Indian women can get an opportunity to play the role of UK’s High Commissioner for a day. It forms part of the ‘High Commissioner for a Day’ competition, which seeks to show the world the kind of leadership and innovative thinking young women are capable of.

Women aged 18-23 years are encouraged to participate in the challenge by submitting a one-minute video response to the question, “How can the UK and India collaborate on technology to benefit future generations?” Participants in this challenge have a chance to express their thoughts on how this technological collaboration by the two nations can develop into a better future.

Videos must be uploaded to any of the social media handles like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn and tag ‘@UKinIndia’ and hashtag ‘#DayOfTheGirl’. The last date for receipt of videos is 4 September. Applicants must also fill out an online form to complete their entry. The online form can be found here: https://shorturl.at/ODw58.

A jury from the British High Commission will review all submissions and announce a winner to be declared on the UKinIndia social media channels. Only one entry per participant is allowed, and the video should not be more than one minute in length. Only original ideas will be considered; any form of plagiarism will lead to automatic disqualification.

Videos or posts submitted by participants do not require personal details. Participants hereby grant the British High Commission irrevocable copyrights over all videos and content submitted by them for any use whatsoever, including for use in future communications and social media content.

This will be an initiative to underline the potential of young women in India and foster a deeper understanding of the role of international collaboration in technology. It will also provide them with a platform to express their vision and be part of the global discourse on technological advancement and cooperation.
