UP NEET UG Counselling 2024: Round 3 Registration Begins Now

The Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Lucknow, has commenced the registration for round-3 admission in the Uttar Pradesh National Eligibility Entrance Test Undergraduate (UP NEET UG) counselling 2024. Candidates will be able to register for the counselling from 2 pm on October 6, 2024, through the official website, upneet.gov.in. The date for closing registration is still on 9 October, 2024.

The merit list is soon followed by registration, which would serve as a guiding point for the candidates to fill their choices in the facility, which would be up till 15 October. On October 18, the round 3 allotment results will be announced, and this time the students would have a much better understanding of how the admission went on.

Some candidates who register need to carry along with them various very important documents in order to complete the registration process, which include:

  • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
  • Caste certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Admit card and application form for NEET UG
  • Any other documents required according to guidelines for round 3 registration

This round will give a chance to candidates who did not take the seat assigned to them in the previous round or who resigned from that seat. Again, they have to pay the security deposit to confirm their enrollment in round 3. Security deposit differs as ₹30,000 for government colleges, ₹2 lakh for private medical colleges, and ₹1 lakh for private dental colleges.

In a related development, the Central Government has also reportedly filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking a three-week extension for a committee that was to examine the National Testing Agency, and its examination processes, particularly over issues related to alleged irregularities in the NEET UG exam. This committee was constituted in June and had former ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan at its helm, with a mandate for submitting recommendations on reform in the examination mechanism, improvement on data security, and the operational structure of NTA.

The Ministry of Education has established seven members in the committee while stressing urgency regarding the upliftment of the integrity and security of the examination process so that the process is totally fair and transparent for all candidates. Registration for UP NEET UG counselling continues, so aspiring medical students are advised to keep themselves updated through official channels so that the application process may not face any inconvenience.
