SC refuses to hear the petition of ED and CBI into NEET-UG irregularities.

As per India Today, the Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a petition seeking an investigation into the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 examination by central investigative agencies, including the ED and CBI.
The petitioner sought an urgent hearing of the plea seeking a probe into the NEET-UG row by ED and CBI, he further wanted a case being filed against the accused under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). However, the Supreme Court refused to hear the matter.
The court asked the petitioner to present his point on July 8, the next hearing on the matter. On June 20, SC halted all cases on the alleged leaks and malpractices in NEET-UG 2024 exam in various High Courts.
A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice SVN Bhatti issued a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA) to transfer all NEET-related pleas in seven High Courts to the Supreme Court. The bench thus fixed July 8 for their next hearing.
SC issued a notice to the Centre and NTA about petitions seeking the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2024, while also asking for a court-monitored probe into the allegations.
The Supreme Court heard a total of 14 petitions. Out of 14, 10 were filed by 49 students and a student organisation called ‘Student Federation of India’. The others were submitted by NTA.
Further, SC refused to halt the NEET counselling on July 19 and declined to direct the CBI to take up the probe for the allegations.
