Delhi LG flags off Tiranga Yatra at IP University

Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinai Kumar Saxena called upon the students to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
Flagging off the Tiranga Yatra at IP University and joining around five thousand students, staff, nearby residents and villagers in the walkathon from the Dwarka campus of the university to sector 14 metro station, LG Saxena said, “ Har Ghar Tiranga campaign has grown to a people’s movement. May our beloved and victorious tricolor fly high in the world. Bring home the national flag and hoist it with pride and honour.
He said , Tiranga Yatra is an embodiment of the collective commitment to nation – building and created a personal connection with the Tiranga.
The LG expressed gratitude to the participating people to make the Tiranga Yatra a grand success.
He emphasized the importance of the Tiranga as a symbol of the nation’s unity, integrity, and diversity. He also highlighted the need for every citizen, especially the youth, to carry forward the values of freedom, sacrifice, and progress that the Tricolor represents.
Vice Chancellor of the university Padma shri Prof. ( Dr.) Mahesh Verma expressed his deep gratitude to the Lt. Governor and all the distinguished guests for their presence and support. He remarked on the significance of the Tiranga Yatra in fostering a sense of national pride and unity, urging everyone to internalize the values symbolized by the Tiranga in their daily lives.
The Yatra witnessed the participation of prominent dignitaries, including Members of Parliament Kamaljeet Shehrawat, Manoj Tiwari, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Chief Secretary of Delhi Naresh Kumar Secretary Higher Education, Delhi AliceVaz and Lakshya Singhal, District Magistrate, South – West Delhi.
The procession began from the main auditorium of the university and culminated at the Dwarka sector-14 metro station, saw over 5,000 enthusiastic participants, including students, faculty, and staff from IPU and its affiliated institutes, as well as students and faculty from Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University and nearby residents and farmers.
A ballet on the freedom movement jointly produced by the ICCR and Sahitya Kala Parishad ‘ Aazadi Ka Mahanayak’ was also performed on the occasion.
