IN-SPACe Model Rocketry CANSAT Competition 2025

The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre( IN- SPACe), in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation( ISRO) and the Astronautical Society of India( ASI), has blazoned that the public- position Model Rocketry/ CANSAT India Student Competition 2024 – 25 will take place from October 27 to 30, 2025, on the banks of the Narayani River at Tamkuhiraj in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. The event aims to nurture youthful gift and foster hands- on experience in rocketry and satellite technology among scholars across India. 

The competition provides actors with an occasion to design, develop, and launch a model rocket able of planting a CANSAT( a small satellite, 7U configuration) importing 1 kg at an altitude of 1 km. The design is designed to pretend real- world space operations, allowing scholars to understand charge planning, cargo design, and recovery procedures. Through similar enterprise, IN- SPACe and ISRO aim to strengthen existential literacy and inspire the coming generation of space professionals in India.

These included the “ Art- in- Space ” and “ Space Quiz 2020 ” contests, held across seven sections of Uttar Pradesh — Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Jaunpur, Bahraich, Bulandshahr, and Gautam Buddha Nagar. The contests drew participation from nearly 73,000 scholars, pressing the growing enthusiasm for space- related literacy. The action was enforced by Namaskar Foundation, which played a crucial part in organizing and promoting these conditioning. 

Adding to the excitement, the “ Antariksh Rath, ” a mobile space mindfulness exhibition, has been traveling these sections. Equipped with models of rockets, satellites, astronaut suits, and educational tools, the Antariksh Rath aims to enkindle curiosity and consolidate scholars’ understanding of wisdom and technology. During the grand homestretch, winners from the Art- in- Space and Space Quiz contests will be complimented and will also have the occasion to witness an immersive “ space niche ” module, offering them a regard into unborn space disquisition surroundings. 

Expressing his support for the action, Shri Shashank Mani, Hon’ble Member of Parliament( Lok Sabha) from Deoria, said, “ It’s an honour to host the CANSAT Model Rocket Competition in the Tamkuhi Raj area of Deoria Lok Sabha in Kushinagar District. This competition will excite the imagination of the region and seed a culture of space mindfulness. It aligns with the charge of Amrit Prayas, our 10- time experimental strategy for the Lok Sabha, which seeks to use space technology in this region. ” 

Vinod Kumar, Director of the Promotion Directorate at IN- SPACe and Executive Secretary of ASI, stressed the broader vision behind the competition. “ This competition reflects IN- SPACe’s commitment to fueling existential literacy and scholars’ early engagement with space technology. By giving them real- world challenges to break, we hope to make a strong foundation for India’s unborn scientists, masterminds, and entrepreneurs who’ll contribute to our growing space frugality. The support from the Uttar Pradesh government and the Kushinagar quarter administration has been pivotal in bringing this homestretch to life, ” he said. 

The competition’s charge objects encompass the complete design and prosecution of a model rocket and CANSAT able of carrying a 1 kg cargo to an altitude of 1 km. Actors must insure safe cargo ejection, recovery, and wharf. Through these challenges, scholars gain first- hand experience in the fundamentals of rocketry, cargo engineering, and charge operation.
