On the 78th Independence Day of India, various embassies and missions in India and outside India, as well as the NRIs celebrated Independence Day with great pomp. Officials associated with the South Asian Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) based in Kathmandu, Nepal also celebrated Independence Day.

In the same sequence, a grand Independence Day celebration was also organized at the only South Asian University run by SAARC countries located in New Delhi.

During this, Professor KK Agarwal said that there is a need to highlight the sacrifices and martyrdom of the revolutionary heroes of the country’s independence and to inform the students of SAARC countries about it. Professor Agarwal said that all the students of SAARC countries studying in the university have jointly organized this program, which is a symbol of unity in diversity. Professor KK Agarwal said that the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is working on the concept of a developed India by 2047. In this sequence, we are working in the direction of strengthening mutual cooperation and brotherhood among the member countries of SAARC. Dr. Agarwal said that this Independence Day program organized with full enthusiasm today by the students who have come here to study from all the member countries of SAARC is not only a symbol of unity in diversity but is also an important basis for strengthening the foundation of relations between the member countries.

The foreign students made this Independence Day celebration memorable with their colorful performances. The cultural performance given by the students from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan in the Independence Day celebrations tied the program together emotionally despite the linguistic diversity, which was appreciated by all.
