In an important development for future undergraduate students, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, has stated that admissions to 18 of its undergraduate programs on the basis of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores will be open from July 16, 2025. The move forms part of the university’s extended policy of admissions for the academic year 2025–26 and will be in a position to accommodate more candidates who appeared for CUET and wish to secure admission into professional and academic degree courses of the university.
The new admission window has been introduced to fill the remaining seats in these courses after exhausting the merit lists of national-level entrance exams along with the university entrance exams. In its press release, the university has specified that those candidates who have already gained admission to these programmes by sitting in national-level entrance exams like CLAT, NEET, or Common Entrance Test of IPU will be excluded from applying under the CUET-based mode of admission. In the same way, those candidates who have gained admission under management quota are also excluded from applying under this new system.
This is the step that will benefit a lot of students who may have been left behind in the previous admission cycles or those who achieved well in CUET and are now in need of quality academic experiences in Delhi. The university announced that the selected candidates must deposit their online application by July 30, 2025, and pay a non-refundable application and counseling fee of ₹2,500.
The 18 programmes to which CUET scores will now be counted are a combination of professional, technical, and multidisciplinary courses cutting across diverse academic interests. These include Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Science in Yoga, Law programmes such as BA LLB and BBA LLB, Para-Medical courses, BBA and BBA-MBA integrated courses, Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication (BAJMC), Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), B.Tech in Biotechnology, and Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm). Science courses also include BSc in Medical Imaging Technology (MIT), Environmental Science, and a double-degree BSc-MSc course.
These programs are BA in Packaging Technology, BA in English, BSc in Medical Technology Radiography (MTR), BA in Economics, BA in Liberal Arts, and BCom (Hons). These programs reiterate the university’s ongoing focus on interdisciplinarity and on skills development at the professional level.
By providing these courses to CUET-qualified candidates, IP University has also become more closely tied with the national grid of standardized university admissions. CUET, being one of the biggest gateway points for admissions to many central and state universities of India, provides a common and transparent platform for evaluating students from various academic boards and places.
The choice is also likely to raise the competitiveness and diversity of the student batch joining IPU this year. Since candidates from all parts of the country will be appearing for CUET, the admission process will also receive applications from outside the NCR region, thus raising the national reach and academic inclusivity of the institution.
The entire eligibility criteria, application process, and information programme-wise is on the official university websites — www.ipu.ac.in and www.ipu.admissions.nic.in, according to the university’s Public Relations Department. The students are requested to thoroughly examine both websites prior to making an application so that they do not miss any of the requirements and are guided through the process within the time limit provided.
This announcement has been welcome relief to most students still waiting for decent academic opportunities after the first round of counseling and admissions at many universities. With this extra window of admission, GGSIPU has given deserving candidates a second avenue through which they can receive quality higher education.
For the university, this action is also a step towards maximizing its academic intake by not allowing a seat to go empty because of procedural and time-related shortcomings in previous rounds of admissions. It is also a sign of increasing confidence in CUET as a reliable and integrated measure of entrance testing.
Application for these 18 undergraduate programs under CUET will open from July 16 and the deadline for submission will be July 30, leaving the applicants with barely two weeks to respond. For application and counseling at ₹2,500, the applicants are requested to submit their registrations at the earliest to grab their opportunities in this last admission procedure for the 2025–26 session.
This is another milestone in the changing face of Indian higher education, with the liberal admission norms and unified entrance tests making the process more inclusive, transparent, and aligned with national academic standards.
