Share

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially declared the final results for Round II of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2024 counselling. Candidates who participated in this round can now access their results on the official website of the MCC. This announcement marks a crucial step in the admission process for Super Speciality courses across India, ensuring that successful candidates can move forward with their academic journey in the 2024 session.

As per the official update, a total of 5,867 candidates have been provisionally selected in Round II of NEET SS 2024. These candidates are now advised to proceed with reporting to their allotted colleges or institutes only after downloading the final allotment letter from the MCC’s official portal. The allotment letter contains key details necessary for admission, and without it, candidates will not be allowed to complete the joining process.

The final result sheet released by the MCC provides comprehensive details for each selected candidate. This includes the candidate’s rank in the NEET SS examination, the name of the allotted institution, the course allocated, the qualifying examination details, the option number chosen during counselling, and any relevant remarks associated with the allotment. These details are essential not just for record purposes, but also for ensuring that the admission process remains transparent and error-free.

In a significant move to accommodate more aspirants and address gaps in the initial seat availability, the MCC has expanded the seat matrix for Round II. This expansion comes after several DNB (Diplomate of National Board) institutes completed their profiles on the MCC portal, allowing their seat data to be integrated into the counselling system. Previously, these seats were excluded from the counselling process due to incomplete institutional information. With the updates now in place, additional DNB seats have been officially included in the second round seat matrix, enabling a greater number of candidates to secure placements in Super Speciality courses.

An official notice from the MCC stated that the addition of these DNB seats was undertaken in the larger interest of the candidates. It emphasized that the inclusion of these new seats is aimed at maximizing opportunities for aspirants who were left out due to earlier limitations. The seat matrix with these additional DNB positions is now available for viewing on the MCC’s website, and candidates can make selections accordingly. This development has been met with positive responses from candidates who now have a wider range of options for institutions and Super Speciality courses.

Furthermore, the counselling process includes admission to Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) Institutions. The eligibility for admission to Super Speciality courses in these institutions is determined through common counselling conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), based on the NEET SS 2024 exam results. These institutions follow distinct eligibility criteria to ensure that only suitable candidates are admitted to their rigorous training programs.

For admission to Super Speciality courses in AFMS institutions, the counselling is organized across three categories: Category I, Category II, and Category III. It is important to note that only civilian candidates under the age of 30 as of December 31, 2024, will be considered eligible for admission to these institutes. This age-based eligibility criterion has been introduced to maintain a standard age profile for candidates entering the armed forces’ medical training programs, which are known for their discipline and structure.

Candidates eligible for AFMS institutions are advised to carefully go through the admission requirements and ensure that all conditions, including age and other criteria, are met before proceeding with the counselling and admission process. Any failure to comply with the stipulated guidelines may lead to disqualification.

The NEET SS 2024 counselling process continues to play a pivotal role in allocating Super Speciality seats in India’s premier medical institutions. With the recent updates and inclusion of additional seats, the MCC has demonstrated its commitment to ensuring a fair, transparent, and inclusive process that benefits the maximum number of qualified medical professionals.

Candidates are urged to regularly check the MCC website for further announcements and updates, particularly with regard to the final joining instructions, verification procedures, and any changes in schedule or seat allotment.
