NEET UG 2025 Counselling Begins For MBBS, BDS Seats

Share

Officially commencing the much-anticipated NEET UG 2025 counselling procedure, thousands of aspiring medical and dental students all throughout India have reached a major milestone. Under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the internet portal and invited applicants who have passed the NEET UG 2025 exam to start their path to MBBS and BDS courses.

Under the AIQ, the counselling run by MCC is the entryway to obtaining a seat in renowned government and private medical schools as well as in Central and Deemed Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and ESIC institutions. This centralized procedure guarantees transparency and efficiency in medical admissions, which are based solely on NEET UG merit.

Starting on July 21, 2025, and ending on July 28, 2025, at 12:00 noon. Candidates must also submit their payment by 3:00 PM same day. Moreover, the choice-filling and locking of preferences started on July 22 and will be open till 11:55 PM on July 28. Beginning at 4:00 PM on the last day, the system will enable candidates to lock their selections, guaranteeing that their preferred universities and courses are submitted safely.

The seat allocation process will be performed between July 29 and July 30 following choice filling. On July 31, the MCC will publish the preliminary seat allotment result, so giving applicants early notice of their college placement. Soon after the preliminary list, the last seat allocation result will be released; applicants must then report to their assigned institutions from August 1 to August 6, 2025.

The MCC counselling procedure has four stages: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. These rounds guarantee that qualified candidates have chances to get admission and that all seats available are used. MCC oversees counselling for the 15% AIQ seats in government medical and dental colleges all around India across these rounds. Candidates should keep in mind, however, that unless it chooses to engage in the process, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is not included in the AIQ.

Besides the AIQ seats, the MCC is in charge of advising for 100% of seats in Central Universities like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), as well as all seats in Deemed Universities and top universities including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), and Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) colleges.

Though MCC supervises counselling at the national level, the remaining 85% of state quota seats are handled individually by their respective state authorities. Based on the same NEET UG scores, but following different state-level registration, verification, and allotment processes, these seats are given out. Already started their own NEET UG 2025 counselling procedures are several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Assam, and Telangana. To make sure they don’t lose out on any chance, candidates are advised to closely follow announcements at both state and national levels.

Candidates have to visit the official website mcc. nic. in to enrol for NEET UG 2025 counseling via MCC. They should head to the ‘UG Medical Counselling’ area and click on the ‘NEET UG 2025 Registration’ link once there. Candidates must enter personal information, academic and NEET details, and create a secure password throughout the registration process. Candidates are given an online payment option for a non-refundable registration fee upon form review and submission.

The registration charge depends on the category and university style. General and EWS candidates for AIQ and Central Universities must pay ₹1,000; SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates pay ₹500. All categories must pay ₹5,000 for Deemed Universities. Furthermore, a refundable security deposit is compulsory: ₹10,000 for AIQ and Central Universities for General category students; ₹2,00,000 for those applying to Deemed Universities.

Candidates should download and print the confirmation page for later reference after paying and finishing the registration. This evidence of successful registration might be required during subsequent phases of the counselling process.

Qualified NEET UG 2025 students are advised to register quickly and thoughtfully complete their preferences. The MCC counselling system is quite important in defining medical careers; so, exactness in registration, choice filling, and preference locking is absolutely vital. The coming weeks will show where Indian doctors of the future start their professional lives; the MCC counselling process is the crucial link linking ambition with opportunity.
