In its 1270th meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh, the Executive Council of Delhi University has approved various important initiatives. The major decisions taken in the meeting are as follows:

Financial Aid: The EC approved the disbursement of over Rs 1.20 crore in financial aid to 1669 students under the Financial Support Scheme.Olympic Celebrations: The participation of nine Delhi University students in the Paris Olympics was celebrated. Of particular interest was that 70 percent of the participating students were women.

New Academic Programs: MTech in Computer Science and BA (Honours) in Russian Language will be new programs initiated by Delhi University from the 2024-25 session.

QS Rankings: Delhi University managed to secure a respectable 328th rank in QS Rankings-2025, which was a considerable improvement over previous years.

Retirement and Death Gratuity: The house passed the recommendations to increase retirement and death gratuity from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.Remuneration for Part-Time Cleaning Staff: The remunerations for the part-time cleaning staff were revised.Admissions: Admissions for 2024-25 have been going good with almost 90 percent of the postgraduate seats being filled in the three rounds.

Integral Status of 12 Colleges and Samarth e-Governance Initiative The meeting also declared the integral status of 12 colleges in Delhi University, nullifying all proceedings towards their disassociation. The said colleges have been constituent colleges of the varsity and integral to Delhi University. The Executive Council approved the continuance of affiliation and different funding projects.

Besides, the House highlighted the achievement of the Samarth e-Governance initiative that has empowered more than 4000 institutions of higher learning across the country.
