Plaksha, Kotak Foundation Partner to Empower 225 Girl Scholars

Share

Plaksha University’s Centre for Thinking, Language and Communication (CTLC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CSR arm of Kotak Mahindra Group – the Kotak Education Foundation, for an impactful training program under the name of ‘Impacting Training for 225 Meritorious Girl Students.”.

The Kotak Kanya Scholarship provides a scholarship support system to those girls from financially weaker backgrounds, who undergo graduation from the top-ranked NIRF institutions. They are made financially adequate for four or five years; this allows them to focus on their academic pursuits without any pressure of finance. However, the program extends to wholesome development via training in specific finishing schools.

CTLC Contribution in Building Social Impact and Skills

Plaksha University’s CTLC builds students’ communication skills and professionalism. Governments, industries, and academic institutions can set up partnerships with the organization that would extend CTLC beyond Plaksha’s community. The cooperation with KEF is clearly in line with the general mission of CTLC: training programs that should produce social impact and build skills.

According to Dr Ganesh Raja, CEO, Kotak Education Foundation, this initiative would herald multi-dimensional growth in young women. “At Kotak Education Foundation, we believe empowering young women is not just about financial aid-it’s about fostering their overall growth. This partnership with Plaksha University is a major step toward preparing our Kotak Kanya Scholars to become confident and capable leaders in their fields,” he added.

To Bridge the Gender Gap in STEM

According to Dr. Brainerd Prince, Director of CTLC at Plaksha University, he was extremely excited about the partnership and explained why: ‘This partnership is an important initiative toward reducing the gender gap in STEM fields in India. Our work will cultivate a network of innovative leaders and problem solvers through personalized training,’ Dr. Prince said.

Comprehensive Training Plan over a Three-Year Period

Under the CTLC, the program is designed to last for three years with a structured delivery pattern. The first year will set on self-learning and goal-setting to lay a foundation for their future careers. The second year will revolve around interpersonal skills that will help them build confidence through public communication. The final year will prepare students for the job market, teaching them how to craft a compelling resume, conduct market research, network properly, and perfect interview skills.

Through this partnership, Plaksha University and Kotak Education Foundation envision empowering these young women to rise as successful career professionals and eventually become a part of the more diverse, balanced workforce of India.
