Providing further access to education and better welfare to the future citizens of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Kalyan Yojana-2024’. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Chief Minister’s official residence.

Ambitious in its scope and nature, ‘Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Kalyan Yojana-2024’ seeks to extend all possible help, support, and guidance to the students of Uttarakhand. Under this scheme, a whole range of educational facilities, financial aid, and developmental programs would be extended so that students from all strata get an equal opportunity to pursue their education and growth without any obstructions. The Scheme is an indicator of the State Government’s commitment to inculcate an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and promoting academic excellence amongst the youth.

Under the initiative, CM Dhami also launched two specially designed buses which will act as mobile learning schools. The schools on wheels would target children of construction workers registered with Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The aim is to bring the children of these construction workers, often missing out from formal education due to the migratory nature of their parents’ work, under the ambit of education through this novel approach.

These schools on wheels are fully equipped with basic learning tools and resources, ensuring proper learning. The school buses would therefore move from one site to another of the on-going construction work, ensuring that the laborers’ children continue enjoying standardized quality education. This initiative meets the educational needs of those children and supports their all-round development by offering them a stable learning environment.

CM Dhami has said that during the inauguration ceremony, it is through education that a bright destiny for the state’s youth shall be built. Government is keen to work with zeal for implementing various programmes meant for empowerment of youth and their all-round development. ‘Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Kalyan Yojana-2024’ has been formulated to bring about uniformity in educational opportunities for students of Uttarakhand, he added.

He has mentioned other current and future initiatives that are targeted to help the youth. These include scholarship programs, skill development courses, and career counseling services. The government is leaving no stone unturned in putting in place a strong educational ecosystem that nourishes talent and prepares students for the challenges that lie ahead.

The inauguration of the school buses on wheels is part of the bigger initiative to make education inclusive for every child in the state, irrespective of his socio-economic background. By taking education to the doorstep of children in need, the government looks to cut down on the dropout rate and see that every child gets the chance to reach his potential.

The ‘Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Kalyan Yojana-2024’ and the opening of mobile schools using electronic media-based learning constitute some big steps towards educational development within the state of Uttarakhand. Both these steps pave the way for the state government to establish a more inclusive and egalitarian educational system, promising a really bright future for the youth of Uttarakhand.
