GBU Launches 10-Day Research Methodology Course with AI Focus

Research methodology course at Gautam Buddha University has been aimed towards improving the research capacity among scholars and integrating Artificial Intelligence within the research process. The courses will be for ten days. Sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, the course starts on 3 December 2024 and will conclude on 13 December 2024. This program intends to bring scholars, researchers, and experts across the country under one platform to be trained in the advanced research methodologies.
The inaugural function of the course was held on December 3, 2024. Several dignitaries attended it, including Prof. R.K. Sinha, Vice Chancellor of GBU, Prof. D.K. Madaan from Punjabi University, Patiala, Prof. N.P. Melkania, Dean of Academics at GBU, Dr. Indu Uprety, Dean of the School of Management (SoM), Prof. Shweta Anand, the Course Director, and Dr. Varsha Dixit, the Course Co-Director. This marks the day of the beginning of the event, which is focused on research as it aims to equip participants with crucial points of various research techniques and all the latest technological integration within it, such as AI.
The course curriculum will cover vast research method topics, but with great emphasis on the role of AI in enhancing research quality and efficiency. The integration of AI tools is becoming increasingly important in academic research, and this course seeks to provide scholars with the necessary knowledge to leverage these tools in their work. According to a press statement issued by the university, the inclusion of AI will allow participants to explore cutting-edge techniques in data analysis, literature review, and the development of innovative research approaches.
This has not become better even up till the inaugural function, addressed by Course Director Prof. Shweta Anand, stating: “This research methodology course is an invaluable opportunity for scholars to refine their research skills and broaden their understanding of advanced methodologies. We are excited at bringing together experts from various different states of India to pool knowledge and share expertise amongst the participants.

The 10-day course will combine lectures, workshops, and direct training sessions to help participants familiarize themselves with traditional, as well as modern techniques of research. The course has also been designed to encourage mutual collaboration among researchers from many different fields.
