In partnership with the Motilal Oswal Foundation (MOF), Indian Institute of Management Mumbai has launched the Motilal Oswal Knowledge Centre (MOKC). The new infrastructure facility promises to widen academia by creating a pool of useful knowledge in capital markets, business strategy, and financial research for building better future leaders.

The MOKC is supposed to be at the frontier of learning and research to create a space for innovation to flourish. According to a Motilal Oswal press release, “it represents a big milestone step in how IIM Mumbai has defined its mission to upgrade the quality of education and how the foundation is committed to spreading it across the entire country.”.

This would mean that 33,400 square feet of focused space will be available to the foundation’s endeavors. With regard to innovation in capital markets and research development, MOKC is going to play a vital role in the impetus. This increases education very close to what industry needs, an important gulf plug between theoretical frameworks and its application-the paramount component in preparing India’s evolving workforce.

Remaining space in MOKC would be utilized by IIM Mumbai for modern classrooms, research laboratories, and support services in creating an ambiance that is conducive to students as well as faculty. The Center, therefore, would emerge as a vital interface between the academic community and industry as well-prepared students with relevant practical know-how and expertise become effective contributors toward national progression in their careers.

Prof. Manoj K. Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai expressed his excitement at this new center. He said, “The Motilal Oswal Knowledge Centre is a step in our journey towards further heightening excellence in academic and research activities. It will transform the manner in which we execute research and learning. By having financial research and space for academic innovation work at this center, it will enable our students and faculty to indulge in groundbreaking efforts well-led to the industry’s requirements.”

This joint initiative between IIM Mumbai and the Motilal Oswal Foundation will make for an enhanced learning environment to breed a new stratum of leaders in India’s businesses and financial circles.
