Shahdara district of Delhi has entered into an MoU with IP University, Delhi to explore and find better measures for welfare of around 30 lakh residents of the district.

The MoU in this regard was sighed at Dwarka campus of IP University here today. It was signed by the Registrar of IP University Dr. Kamal Pathak and ADM of Shahdara district Mr. Rajiv Ranjan.

For the first time any district of Delhi has tied up with any university for such type of noble cause.

The Vice Chancellor of IP University Padmshri Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma said on the occasion that a university is like a universe. Apart from imparting education, it has some social responsibilities also.

In Western countries, universities work with government for the betterment of the society.

The District Magistrate of Shahdara district Shailendra Singh Parihar said on the occasion that the east campus of IP University is located in the district. The centres of AI, Data Science, IOT, Robotics, Design, Architect & Planning, Mass Communication of the University are operating from this campus.So, it will be easy to take logistic support from the University.

The scope of the MoU includes- Organising mutually relevant surveys, campaigns, and other allied studies for improving the living of residents through data analysis for vikshitdelhi@2047;mutually planning and conduct lectures,workshops, symposiums, conferences, training and other similar events on mutually agreeable themes at district and state levels; mutually conducting short-term courses for skill development and employability; undertaking socially and community relevant meaningful activities and programmes involving students of the University for awareness and sensitisation of local community; undertaking capacity building programmes for the officials of the district in emerging technologies for effective decision making; publicising events jointly through the concerned channels and also undertaking CSR/ University’s social responsibility initiatives in the district.
