Himachal Pradesh Signs MoU to Promote Unified Sports for Divyang Children

Share

Samagra Shiksha, Himachal Pradesh, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) to promote unified sports programs for Divyang children. This has been designed to enhance the physical well-being along with adequate social and emotional activation among such children through active sports engagement.

Unified Sports brings children together with and without intellectual disabilities. This mutual environment should be interacting in such a way so as to share friendship and display teamwork in a much more enjoyable manner. Badminton, basketball, football, volleyball, and bocce are some of the activities planned.

Officials from Samagra Shiksha here pointed out that it is not a sporting initiative but rather an environment in which children with special needs are empowered and accepted. In teamwork, all these children will have the opportunities for friendships and chances to develop pertinent life skills, all this while playing sports without barriers.

Special Olympics Bharat, with its deep understanding of inclusive sports, will engage in any kind of training and events organization. It is a step toward equal opportunities for children with disabilities engaged in recreational activities, contributing to their overall development.

This collaboration would bring about the state of Himachal Pradesh a step closer to a more inclusive society where every child could succeed in sports and life irrespective of his or her abilities.
