The educational profile of  campaigners recommended in the UPSC Civil Services Examination( CSE) is  witnessing a  conspicuous shift, according to the  rearmost government data presented in Parliament. While engineering graduates still form the largest group among successful  campaigners, their long- standing dominance appears to be weakening. Engineering campaigners Still Leading but No Longer Dominant 

Engineering graduates have historically  reckoned for the largest share of  campaigners recommended through the UPSC Civil Services Examination, and the recent data confirms that they remain at the top. still, their  figures have changed significantly over the last five times. In 2019, as  numerous as 582  campaigners with an engineering background were recommended. This number dropped  sprucely to 541 in 2020 and further declined to 452 in 2021, marking a notable reduction during that period. 

The trend reversed in the  posterior times, with engineering  campaigners  adding  to 542 in 2022 and further to 554 in 2023. The number  also rose  sprucely to 765 in 2022 and peaked at 848 in 2023. In  discrepancy,  campaigners with advanced degrees  similar as master’s or doctoral qualifications remained smaller in number, standing at 284 in 2023.
