Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) unveiled a new official website, bpscpat.bihar.gov.in, in an effort to enhance accessibility, transparency, and communication between the commission and the candidates in the state. On July 9, 2025, the commission announced the new portal would run parallel to the current site bpsc.bihar.gov.in, which will be functional and active.

Making it unequivocally clear, the BPSC announced that all crucial updates pertaining to examinations, advertisements, notifications, timetables, and any other news of the commission will now be accessible on both websites. The candidates can view the updates from either of the websites without any inconvenience. Putting once again the value of true information at the forefront, the commission urged all the applicants to use the official BPSC websites and genuine social media handles only for true updates, cautioning against the existing false news being propagated on spurious sites.

The new portal launch has been a step towards simplification of functioning and making necessary services available to individuals. The new BPSC website homepage has been made more user-friendly and includes a highlighted ‘What’s New’ section to enable users to view at a glance what is new here. Besides this, the portal also provides quick-link facilities for downloading of results, downloading of answer keys, downloading of admit card, and application fill-up.

Another convenient feature is the ‘Important Announcement’ section towards the later part of the homepage, giving recent news and updates for upcoming or ongoing processes. The website has been made user-friendly and offer convenient access to major services to first-time as well as recurring applicants.

The new interface also features a few special tabs for simple services like Advertisements, Online Applications, View Marksheet, and Invitation Letters. The categories are meant to avoid confusion and facilitate a smooth user experience. By centralizing a number of different services, BPSC looks to minimize repeated questions and limit candidate reliance on third-party agents or unreliable forums.

There is one significant improvement on the new portal in the form of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, which is detailed and exhaustive. It provides answers to an assortment of candidate questions on every aspect, including step-by-step instructions on such important topics as applying for different BPSC vacancies, getting email OTPs, making changes in personal or educational information, downloading admit cards, and exam dates. It also sets out standards to handle duplicate payments, lists the list of items prohibited to be excluded from exam centers, and specifies how previous results and examination papers can be accessed.

This transparency and readability extends to the reporting released on BPSC’s recruitment performance over the last three years of finance. The site contains a considerable amount of statistics on the vacancies notified and the number of recommendations given by the commission in return. Between April 2022 and March 2023, BPSC advertised 9,451 and recommended 2,981 candidates. The figure rose the following year with a humongous jump in recommendations—2,23,152 candidates were recommended between April 2023 and March 2024. During the recent period of April 2024 to March 2025, BPSC advertised 1,35,625 and recommended 1,12,173 candidates.

This open dissemination of information is being interpreted as a step towards gaining the trust of candidates and stakeholders, a sign of BPSC’s dedication to merit-based selection and timely selection. The statistics also reflect the commission’s growing workload and its attempts at becoming operationally efficient with the help of technology upgradation.

Additionally, the website developed by the BPSC includes a very comprehensive archive section. The section consists of all releases, timetables, interview news, and advertisements published by the BPSC throughout the year 2024. By making historical data available to applicants, the archive not only contributes to transparency but also assists the applicants to track timelines and research trends in the recruitment process.

The deployment of this new website is a component of BPSC’s overall digital vision of minimizing offline reliance, enhancing the validity of services, and making candidates’ lives easier during the selection process.
