The Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Day was observed around the country today, reflecting the key objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). This day highlighted the fundamental relevance of foundational reading and numeracy as the basis of early childhood education, which is required to shape a brighter future for young learners.

A slew of interesting and powerful activities were planned throughout various States and Union Territories (UTs) to emphasise the importance of FLN. These actions demonstrated educators, politicians, and communities’ shared commitment to improving young children’s core abilities. The celebrations were both broad and informative, with participatory workshops and storytelling sessions, as well as arithmetic games and literacy initiatives.

Each State and UT’s unwavering commitment to strengthening core literacy and numeracy abilities demonstrates a common vision of educational success. This joint effort is critical in creating solid educational foundations, ensuring that every child has the chance to develop both intellectually and personally.

The commemoration of FLN Day is a crucial step towards developing a strong educational framework that aligns with the aims of NEP 2020. It serves as a reminder of our collaborative success and continuous commitment to creating a brighter tomorrow via high-quality education for everyone.
