The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the enrollment process for JEE Main 2026 Session 1, marking the morning of one of the most awaited entrance examinations in India for engineering applicants. The operation form is now available at the sanctioned website jeemain.nta.nic.in. As lakhs of scholars prepare to take the test, NTA has also issued a clear set of guidelines regarding the enrollment process, test rules, and eligibility conditions, with an establishment stating that no calculator or electronic device will be allowed during the examination. JEE Main serves as a gateway for admission into prestigious engineering institutes similar to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and colorful centrally funded specialized institutions (CFTIs). It also acts as a qualifying test for the JEE Advanced, which opens the doors to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). For the 2026 session, NTA has streamlined the operation process to ensure translucency and availability for scholars across the country. Campaigners can visit the sanctioned gate, register themselves, and fill out the form by furnishing their academic details, uploading scrutinized images, and paying the needed operation figure online. The agency has also prompted campaigners to precisely check all the information before submitting the form, as no calculator or digital aid will be permitted during the test, reflecting NTA’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the testing process. The JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions—Session 1 in January and Session 2 in April. This two-session format, introduced in former times, provides scholars with a fresh occasion to ameliorate their scores and performance. NTA has clarified that scholars can appear in either one or both sessions, and the higher score of the two will be considered for admission. The examination will be held in a Computer-Grounded Test (CBT) mode for all papers, except the Drawing Test of Paper 2B (B.Arch), which will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Campaigners are needed to carry only their admit card, print ID evidence, and necessary stationery particulars like pens and pencils. This time, the JEE Main 2026 operation form includes enhanced features such as automatic error discovery, real-time confirmation, and better availability for campaigners with disabilities. The system also allows aspirants to exercise their details before submission, reducing the liability of crimes. Once registered, campaigners will be able to download their admit cards from the same portal previous to the examination date. After the results are declared, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct centralized counseling for admissions into NITs, IIITs, and other institutions. The agency has also advised against fraudulent websites and prompted scholars to calculate only on the sanctioned NTA gate for authentic information and updates.
