Online Registration For IIM Lucknow’s PhD In Management Closes On 16 February 2026

Online registrations for admissions to Indian Institute of Management Lucknow’s Doctoral Programme in Management (PhD) 2026 will close on 16th February 2026. Designed for completion in approximately 4.5 years, the programme prepares research graduates for leadership roles in academia, the corporate sector, and public institutions, in addition to the core research activities required for the degree.

The admission process of IIM Lucknow PhD program is structured, transparent, and student-centric. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will have their exam scores reviewed and will subsequently be invited for a faculty-led interview to assess research fit and alignment with mentors’ areas of expertise. Candidates with prior qualifications from IIMs in relevant fields can apply directly and will be exempt from entrance tests.

To apply for the PhD program, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Ø  A Masters’ Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST candidates).

Or

Ø  A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / four-year graduate degree with 75% marks (70% for SC/ST candidates) or equivalent grade point average.

Or

Ø  Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum 55% aggregate marks and B.Com. as undergraduate degree.

Or

Ø  Applicants already holding a two/ three year-full-time classroom based PGDM from any of the IIM with a minimum CGPA of 6 on 10 points scale or 60%.

Or

Ø  PGP-WE (earlier WMP) of IIM Lucknow with a minimum CGPA of 6.

Additionally, all applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in all public examinations from Class 10 onwards.

In addition to the rigorous academic and research training, IIM Lucknow offers an enabling research environment through a comprehensive framework for doctoral scholars. The 99 Moonshots, a 1999 Batch Fellowship Grant, aims at enhancing research productivity among doctoral scholars. It seeks to strengthen high-quality research output by providing publication incentives, conference grants, and academic support. Additionally, the initiative includes awards for research published in top-tier journals, funding for participation in leading international conferences, and support for data collection and academic contingencies.

Other than this, the Institute provides research scholars with semi-furnished one-bedroom accommodation, a monthly stipend with contingency grants, and a one-time computer purchase grant. Additionally, scholars are supported through travel grants to attend national and international conferences and a domestic doctoral consortium.
