Budget of India: Probably the significant changes in the education budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, in comparison to the previous year, were visible in India. The key highlights are as follows:

Department of School Education and Literacy: The Department of School Education and Literacy of India has got an overall increased allocation of Rs 12,024 crore with an increase of 19.56 per cent in its budget for fiscal 2024-25,.

Scheme Allocation: The scheme allocation for education in India for the fiscal year 2024-25 is Rs 57,804 crore, an increase of Rs 10,846 crore over the previous year,.

Nonscheme for Education in India Non-scheme allocation for education in India in the year 2024-25 has increased by Rs 1,177 crore to Rs 15,693 crore from the previous year.

Department of Higher Education: A sum of Rs 46,619.77 crore is allocated in the Budget for the Department of Higher Education in India for the financial year 2024-25; this is Rs 3,525.15 crore more than last year, reflecting an increase of 7.99 per cent.

Central Universities: For Central Universities in India, an allocation of Rs 15,928.00 crore has been made, which is Rs 4,314.03 crore more than last year’s allocation.

These are some of the major changes in education-related budget of India for the fiscal year 2024-25, compared to that of the previous year: An enhanced outlay was made for the Department of School Education and Literacy, and for the Department of Higher Education.
