IIT Delhi has announced a new certificate program in Design Thinking and Innovation, which is focused toward equipping professionals with knowledge to be relevant in today’s rapidly changing digital landscape. It is a five-month online program starting from 20 December. The program will give firsthand experience of leading-edge fields such as generative AI, Human-Centred Design, iterative design, and sustainable innovation.

This program is targeted toward managers, product developers, entrepreneurs, business consultants, and senior executives. Its comprehensive learning curriculum will enable them to become competitive. Participants will develop hands-on knowledge through a variety of key topics ranging from defining problems and developing solutions to prototyping, testing, agile design, and data-driven innovation.

IIT Delhi claims the course will include video lectures, assignments, and quizzes to ensure a dynamic and interactive learning process. While presentation of solutions for complicated real-world problems is a key element of the program, participants are encouraged to use design thinking skills in this regard, while proficiency in application of design thinking methodologies and innovation practices are demonstrated in the final project.

The program will also feature special Generative AI Masterclasses. Dedicated sessions will be conducted on AI-driven innovation, the ethical use of AI, and its link with product development. This is to prepare participants for planning the roles that AI would play in future business solutions.

Participants will be offered the opportunity to attend two sessions at the IIT Delhi campus, where they can get closer interactions with faculty as well as their counterparts, thus improving opportunities in the networking area. Such extra value is going to be delivered through further in-person discussions of ideas and projects or even further knowledge gained from the IIT Delhi community in the various aspects of the academia and profession.

He will lead the program that is designed by Professor Vijayaraghavan M Chariar, an international expert on Design for Sustainability, Frugal Innovation and Traditional Knowledge Systems with over 20 years of experience. Prof. Chariar, through his entrepreneurial ventures such as Ekam Eco Solutions, will guide participants through and combine design thinking with cutting-edge AI tools to formulate impactful and sustainable innovation.

The cost of the program is 1,10,000 + GST, after which participants acquire their certificates from IIT Delhi. In areas of innovation and technology, IIT Delhi has further solidified itself as a leader in advanced education that would arm professionals with the expertise needed for exercising third lives in a highly digitally-driven world.
