The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 registration deadline has been rescheduled for what is now the second extension. Candidates who have not yet registered are now given more time-October 11-to fill in their applications. This is an extension of a first one that was made due to the volume of requests from applicants who failed to register within the originally set deadline of October 3, starting with the deadline revised from September 26.

One can register for GATE 2025 online till 11:59 PM, October 11, 2024. Interested candidates should find the facility online at the official website gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The latest notice of the organizing committee clearly highlighted the requirement of this extension as “due to several requests from applicants, the closing date of the extended online registration/application process (with a late fee) is further extended.”.

GATE 2025 is going to be conducted by IIT Roorkee and will take place in the month of February during the year 2025. It is also going to be taken up through the computer-based testing format. There will be a total of 30 test papers to be conducted this academic year, including full papers and sectional papers.

The GATE 2025 registration process commenced from August 28, and it has been continued several times to accept more student requests who want to appear for this prestigious examination. This registration fee varies as the categories of candidate are different. For females and SC, ST, and PwD candidates, it is Rs 900, while for others and including foreign nationals, it is Rs 1,800 which is required at the time of registration. Candidates, those who have not completed their application by this new deadline, will have to wait till next year to apply for GATE.

The process of GATE application 2025 is through the following steps

1. Open the official website of GATE
2. Click the option “apply now” in the Application Menu.
3. Fill up the personal details like paper opted for appearing, postal address, and examination city preferences.
4. uploading related documents such as scanned copy of photograph, signature, category certificate whichever needed, PwD certificate if needed.
5. Provide all valid government-issued ID and bank account details.
6. Complete the payment process
7. Download or print the GATE 2025 application form and check the status of an application.

Candidates must remember that the photograph that would appear on their GATE 2025 admit card as well as scorecard is going to be one of the photos used during the application process. IIT Roorkee is going to announce the date when corrections in the application for GATE 2025 will be undertaken shortly. The admit card is going to occur in the month of January, and it is scheduled to hold the examination on 1, 2, 15, and 16th of February 2025.
